We Believe in Cycling

The Ohio River Trail Council (ORTC) believes that great things happen when people ride bikes. We believe that our communities are healthier, safer and better connected — and that our nation is economically stronger and more energy independent. Moreover, we believe that, together, we can build a Bicycle Friendly America for everyone.

The ORTC’s goal is to promote and protect a continuous corridor of natural and cultural resources along the Ohio River and its tributaries. Just imagine a multi-use trail along the Ohio River! The ORTC is a 501c3 non-profit, volunteer-led, public benefit corporation comprised of community residents, interested property owners, elected officials, business and civic leaders.

The ORTC is committed to excellence, with a clear vision and a passion for delivering outstanding results. We ask you to form an alliance with us to capitalize on our strengths in order to guarantee a bright future for our rivers, forests, and towns.

The evidence to support the development of greenways is compelling, especially given the investment compared to other endeavors with comparable objectives. The ORTC is dependent on your exemplary interest in your community, healthy lifestyles, and conservation to make our vision a reality.

If you have previously pledged your support, thank you for your assistance to the ORTC and the community residents it serves. If you have not, please consider a contribution to bring better bicycling to life in 2015 and beyond.
