December 24, 2015 NEVILLE TOWNSHIP, PA — Allegheny County’s plans to include bike lanes along main thoroughfares on Neville Island is being called “a Christmas miracle” by Sean Brady, Hollow Oak Land Trust executive director, because it will make his bicycle commute from Observatory Hill on the North Side to his job in Moon safer and easier. “Connectivity is very important in the airport corridor. This is a big step in connecting the dots,” Mr. Brady said of the project earmarked for 2016. Neville’s more than 5 miles of bicycle lanes will ultimately connect to Downtown Pittsburgh; to the 46-mile Montour Trail, using a 0.8-mile extension through the county’s 78-acre Sports & Athletic Complex at Montour Junction; and with the Ohio River Trail, which will extend into Ohio. more »»
