OHIO RIVER TRAIL COUNCIL
Tour des Trees — Pittsburgh, PA
Tour des Trees 5 or 20-Mile Ride
Come out for a ride! This is part of a road and trail ride series sponsored by the Ohio River Trail Council (ORTC) intended to bring awareness to the wonderful bike routes and trails in our quad-state region (Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia). All cyclists are welcome for this rails-to-trails, moderate-paced ride!
Join us, as the Ohio River Trail Council supports Tree Pittsburgh. The Tour des Trees fundraiser ride is along Pittsburgh's beautiful Three Rivers Heritage Trail. Enjoy some outdoor exercise and learn about the riverfront ecosystem and current efforts to restore and protect it. Our guides include ecologists and foresters, as well as Tree Tender volunteers. You'll also catch views of restoration work along Pittsburgh's hillsides, and we've scheduled a special stop to check in on our famous Bald Eagle nest!
The two rides are part of Bike Pittsburgh's BikeFest. For the seasoned rider, we've planned a 20-mile route along the Monongahela and Ohio Rivers. For families, we've designed a 5-mile, fun and friendly "Family Ride" along the Monongahela River. All Family Ride participants will receive an interactive route map that will allow children to track their stops with stickers and earn a prize at the ride finish. Every participant will receive a commemorative t-shirt. Lead sponsorship for Tour des Trees provided by Duquesne Light and the Pittsburgh Shade Tree Commission, with additional support from Davey Tree Experts and Eisler Landscapes.
